How can you benefit from Body Mind Love? [Q&A]
What is Body Mind Love all about?
Body Mind Love is not about the body OR the mind. It’s about BOTH the body and the mind and how they interact with each other.
What exactly does that mean?
In our culture, we’re taught to split ourselves into two parts, body and mind. But when we separate ourselves from ourselves, we’re actually breaking our system.
Contrary to what we often think, our intelligence is not limited to our minds or our brains only.
Our body is a network of intelligences. When they no longer freely can communicate with each other, our capacity and our potential to live a full life is reduced.
Huh, sounds quite abstract…
Yeah, but the consequences are huge. The body-mind separation affects all parts of our lives.
It also lowers our self-esteem and our belief in ourselves. It reduces our spontaneous feelings of joy and happiness, and can even lead to feelings of meaninglessness and deep depression.
However, when we restore the body-mind connection, we can have a full human experience, where we’re truly alive and present and our body-minds are filled with gratefulness and joy.
Body Mind Love is not about changing you into something you’re not. It’s about reconnecting on a deep, personal level.
When we start by creating harmony in ourselves, it’s much easier to find our right place in the world. And from there, we can freely choose how we want to express ourselves.
Who will benefit most?
If you feel a deep longing for reconnecting with yourself, Body Mind Love can be the right solution for you. Depending on your needs, you can use the courses for different purposes. You can, for example, use them as tools to:
- Reconnect with your natural source of wisdom, joy, and happiness
- Stop the inner fight between your body and mind
- Become more mindful and increase you focus and presence
- Become more aware of your true emotions
- Heal and relax your life
Is Body Mind Love for everyone?
The courses are very soft and gentle, and generally not physically challenging. They can be taken by almost anyone between 18 and 100 years old.
Injury. We recommend that you always consult your doctor or health care professional before you start a new training program. This is especially important if you have a physical injury. You need to know what you can do, and what you should avoid.
Depression or trauma. If you’re suffering from deep depression or severe trauma, please ask your psychologist or psychiatrist if the exercises are suitable for you. In some programs, there are states of deep relaxation. Some exercises are combined with slow breathing. Because of this, there’s a risk that unsolved psychological material will resurface and overwhelm you. If your therapist recommends you one of our courses, always do the exercises under supervision, or together with a friend. Never do them alone.
HSP. If you’re a highly sensitive person, the Body Mind Love programs can be very beneficial for you. However, you need to consider that the courses will make you even more sensitive. But not only that, they will also make you more aware of what’s going on in your body and your mind. This combination of sensitivity and awareness is crucial to help you stay on top and avoid feeling overwhelmed in challenging situations.
In general. Always listen to yourself and to your body. If you feel resistance to relaxing, for example, do less, and let your body and your nerve system gradually slow down and adjust. If you still feel a deep inner resistance, don’t do it. It might be an indication that this exercise is not right for you.
Why are many exercises done in slow motion?
It’s not about making you slower in your daily life – it’s about the way we learn new things.
Slow, conscious movements are executed from a different part of the brain than automated movements. In Body Mind Love we want to break free from restrictions and automation and return to open and free movements. That’s one reason why we go slowly.
To learn quality movements, we also need to slow down. It’s like when a musician rehearses a difficult part of a solo. He or she takes it slowly in the beginning, and then speeds it up.
Slow movements also make the body and mind relaxed and can lead you into deep, blissful states of mind.
Are your courses religious or spiritual?
All courses and resources are neutral in their nature and open to your interpretation and worldview. This means that whatever religion or non-religion you belong to, the programs can help you deepen your experience of yourself and the human existence.
When will the first courses be launched?
Stay tuned! In early 2017, we’ll launch our first courses.
Tell me about your pricing?
We want to make it possible for you and your friends to participate. The blog, some resources, and some shorter courses are FREE.
For the longer, systematic courses the price per lesson is about the same as for a regular yoga class. But Body Mind Love’s classes can be taken when it suits you, and as many times as you like!
